Aftercare Instructions
-
Bandage
I bandage most of my clients with a transparent medical adhesive commonly known as “second skin” unless you have an adhesive allergy. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to adhesives, I will bandage you with Saran Wrap.
If you are bandaged with second skin, please keep it on for 3-5 days, or a maximum of 1 week. If you are bandaged with Saran Wrap, remove it before you go to bed and begin aftercare.
If you begin to notice a reaction (itching, hives, or redness in the shape of your bandage) please remove it immediately.
-
Washing
Gently wash your tattoo after the bandage is removed with Dial Gold Antibacterial Soap twice daily— once in the morning, and once in the evening.
Avoid using washcloths, scrubbies, and loofas.
Rinse thoroughly after washing, and allow your tattoo to air dry before applying aftercare.
-
moisturizing
Keep your tattoo moisturized for a minimum of two weeks.
I recommend using Mad Rabbit’s Enhance Balm for the best healed results.
Use the balm several times throughout the day and gently rub it in.
-
Healing process
Itching and peeling can both be normal parts of the healing process. Please avoid itching, picking, or peeling off any of the flaking skin/ink. Keeping your tattoo adequately moisturized will help cut down on any discomfort and promote speedy healing.
Most tattoos will be healed in 2 weeks.
-
Things to avoid
For two weeks after getting tattooed, avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, soaking, sweating, submerging, and tanning (both spray/self tans and sun exposure).

Healed photos
Please send me healed photos after 4 weeks. You can text them to my business number and we will let you know if I recommend a touch up. If so, we’ll get you scheduled and take care of it for you.
Healed photos are important for me to continue improving as an artist, and for future clients to see how my work heals.
